This is a slightly lower action of the Court compared to the recent presidential speeches to Congress, since six attended 2024, five attended in 2023 and five attended 2022.
However, during Trump’s first mandate, only four judges attended each of Trump’s speeches before Congress.
Trump will shake his hand and talk to the members of the Supreme Court at a time when his administration seeks his emergency intervention in two pending cases related to his executive actions, one that involves his power to fire any employee of the Executive Branch for any reason, and the other that involves his power to freeze the foreign help that Congress has authorized for specific programs.
To date, the Supreme Court has not yet intervened significantly in Trump’s state presidential powers during his second term.
