Trump promises to assume the crime in Chicago 'Fast' after the violent weekend of labor day

President Donald Trump again pointed to Chicago, since he suggested that federal intervention is needed to combat crime.

Trump pointed out armed violence in the city during the weekend of Labor Day, since eight people died and more than 50 wounds.

“Chicago is the worst and most dangerous city in the world, with much,” Trump wrote on his social media platform. “Pritzker needs bad help, he just doesn’t know. I will solve the crime problem quickly, as I did in Dc. Chicago will be safe and soon.”

The governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, a Democrat, will hold a press conference at 4 PM ET on Tuesday afternoon to address residents in the middle of federal deployment reports in Chicago.

Pritzker and Chicago’s local officials have rejected Trump’s desire to send National Guard troops to the city. Pritzker, during an appearance in “Face the Nation” by CBS News on Sunday, said such movement would be “non -American.”

“The National Guard troops, any type of troops in the streets of an American city do not belong, unless there is an insurrection, unless there really is an emergency. It does not exist,” said Pritzker. He said that if the troops are sent to the city, it would be equivalent to an “invasion.”

On Monday, Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson directed a song of “No Trops in Chicago” on a labor day march.

“There are no federal troops in the city of Chicago, without militarized strength in the city of Chicago,” he said in burning comments. “We are going to defend our democracy in the city of Chicago. We will protect the humanity of each person in the city of Chicago.”

Violent crime in Chicago fell significantly in the first half of the year, according to official data published by the city. The shootings fell 37% and homicides have decreased by 32% compared to the first half of 2024, while the total crime of violence decreased by more than 22%, according to crime statistics.

An American official confirmed to ABC News last month that the planning was underway in the Pentagon for the potential use of the National Guard troops in Chicago: an area that Trump has repeatedly indicated while reflecting by sending the guard to other important American cities after his Federal Washington control taking.

Trump then seemed to go back a little, saying that he preferred that the cities ask for the help of their administration.

But during the weekend, referring to recent crime, Trump warned Pritzker to “straighten, fast, or come!”

Meanwhile, the administration is preparing for an increase in the increase in immigration application operations in Chicago as soon as this week, sources told ABC News.

The Secretary of National Security, Kristi Noem, said the intention was to send more resources to Chicago, but did not disclose details.

“I will not reveal the details because they are strong and researchers who are in the field there, and I want to make sure that we keep their security our number one priority,” Noem said about “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “But we will continue chasing the worst of the worst throughout the country, as President Trump has told us to do, focusing on those who perpetuate the murder and rape and trafficking of drugs and humans throughout our country, knowing that each citizen deserves to be sure.”
