A large-scale response is underway in Sacramento after a medical outreach helicopter crashed on Highway 50, closing eastbound traffic Monday night.
Multiple crew members were taken to area hospitals, according to a statement from Outreach Medical Services.

No patients were on board, the company said.
The helicopter appeared to have taken off from UC Davis Medical Center when it crashed, according to flight tracking data.

The California Highway Patrol said it will work with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate and decide when the wreckage can be moved from the highway.
“We are in the process of determining the details of this situation, as well as the condition of the range crew involved,” the company said.
