Luigi Mangione will be prosecuted in the Federal Court of New York on Friday for an accusation of four positions for the murder of the CEO of United Healthcare Brian Thompson.

The 26 -year -old was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania, five days later and was initially accused of a federal complaint in relation to the murder.

The murder position through the use of a firearm would be eligible for the death penalty if it is convicted.
Before the presentation of the accusation, the Attorney General Pam Bondi already pointed out his intention to follow the death penalty in the case.
Mangione lawyers are actively trying to prevent the government from looking for the death penalty if they are convicted, arguing that the Department of Justice made a “political, arbitrary and capricious” protocol violation.
Mangione also faces state charges in relation to the shooting. He declared himself innocent.
He is detained in federal custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
