A 20 -year -old football player is attributed to make a brave play on the field when he and his father witnessed an accident and joined to rescue the driver before his vehicle exploded on fire, authorities said.
Larry Pickett Jr., a defensive player of the black knights, emerged in actions that save life early on Fort Montgomery, New York, about five miles south of the United States Military Academy, West Point, where Pickett is registered as a second year cadet.
Pickett and his family returned to West Point after dinner and met a vehicle just after midnight that had apparently diverted Route 9W in Orange Count WTVD In Raleight, North Carolina, where he lives.

Despite noticing the living cables that hung on the ground from the post, the car crashed, Pickett Mr. said that he and his son ran towards the danger of reaching the driver trapped inside the vehicle.
“There was no discussion. My son jumped directly to action,” said old Picktt to WTVD. “He mentioned that his military training was launched and we did it [the man] outside. He took care of him on the side of the road until the police officers arrived there, and then the fire department came there shortly after. “
The dramatic rescue was captured in the video of the cell phone by Picytt’s sister, Lauren, and showed the father and the son taking the driver from the car and carrying him out of danger moments before the vehicle exploded in flames.

Fort Montgomery’s fire department said in a Facebook post that when firefighters arrived, the vehicle was “completely wrapped in flame.”
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The driver seemed to be disoriented but aware of the scene, according to the video posted online by the Picktt family.

The United States Military Academy published a Declaration on Facebook The early Sunday, saying that he is “proud of heroic actions” taken by Picktt Jr and his father.
“Running towards the danger of saving lives is the incarnation of the values of the army and the warrior spirit,” the Military Academy published.
The Athletic Director of the Army, Tom Theodorakis, added in a publication on social networks that Picktt Jr. and his father “exemplify the values we appreciate, giving a time of crisis to save a life.”
Larry Pickett Mr. published the rescue video on his Instagram page and expressed how proud his son’s actions.
“Thank you Jesus that this man will live to see another day! I am very grateful for my son LJ for saving his life! Not only is he having an impact on the classroom and the soccer field at the United States military academy in West Point, but he is also making a difference in his community!” The senior Picktt wrote.
